Weekend: Easter Fun and a Run

We packed this Easter weekend pretty full, sort of like last year.  On Friday afternoon, the girls and I dyed eggs, something that I always love.  I love starting with this -

And ending with this.

The girls love it too, though Bella is still a little young, so she gets to mostly watch as well as taste test the outside of the eggs.

Gotta make sure they are getting plenty of color.

This next picture cracks me up, because it feels like this is the story of being a little sister.  "What is that that she has that I do not have?"  Though, I did give Bella all kinds of stuff to play with to make her life a little better.

Saturday morning we all ran the Capital City Classic, a 10K - well John and I ran while the little girlies rode.  We met up with our friends, the Henrys, who were jogging with their three kids.  It was quite the array of strollers.

Pre-race -

Post-race -

Nothing like finding a giant mulch hill to climb.  The weather was so wonderful that it made it feel as if we should stay outside forever.

Sunday brought a beautiful service at our church and sweet girlies in Easter dresses.

Nothing says Easter like a good tackle.

That afternoon it was time for egg hunting round our house.

You know Lambie got in on the hunting action.

And, you know John got in on the candy action.

Having no family in town makes me a little sad at Easter time, but I am thankful for the time we got to have as a family of four.  Celebrating our risen Savior is such a joy - I cried through much of the worship at church, which is sort of an embarrassing tendency of mine.  I am just truly so thankful that all things are possible with God - if he is for us, what can stand against us?  He is risen - He is risen, indeed.

Thanks for sharing your family Easter. I can relate to feeling a little sad about not being with family on this special day but you are right we are all blessed beyond measure. Don't be embarrassed Carol. The Lord loves us to be sensitive to what He has done for us.

Your little girl's Easter dresses were so cute!! Love them!

I always cry during worship at church. Thankfully the lights are always low so no one is any wiser. Ha!
