6 Years Later . . . Happy Anniversary, Baby.

Six years ago, we were entering a lifelong covenant with one another.  Today, we are dealing with the fact that lightning struck the transformer of our restaurant rendering us powerless (in so many ways . . .).  Six years ago, we were just beginning our life together.  Now, we are learning how to parent and still learning how to love one another better.  Six years ago, you were my best friend and I couldn't imagine life without you. Now, I know that God has put us together for so many reasons that I never could have imagined on that day.

Here are some of the highlights in pics - courtesy of Main Street Studios.  (It is a great day when your sister marries the man who buys the studio that owns your wedding pictures, and then he gives you the CD - thanks, Luke!)

What a beautiful blessing.  Our marriage has had its ups and downs, just like any marriage.  But I am happy to say, that there are more ups than downs, and that I am more in love now than I have ever been. Thank you, John, for making my life richer and for helping me to be more like Christ.  I am eternally grateful for God's hand in giving us to one another, and I look forward to as many years as he gives us together.  Happy Anniversary.  It's been a good six years.

Carol, I feel no need to brag to the blog community about how talented you are and how well you care for our family--they get to see that with each new post that comes out every few days. It would probably also be unnecessary to tell your blog posse about how great of a wife and friend you are to me. I think they can read that between, and sometimes on, the lines.

I guess the best thing I can do is to tell whoever stumbles upon this post, even if it just you, that the amazing woman, mom, friend, wife and crafter/cook extraordinaire that shines through these posts is every bit as amazing as she seems.

I'm blessed out of my mind to be be the "John" in the "John and Carol Show." I'm looking forward to the next 6, 10, 20 years with you.

I guess this is the blog comment equivalent of the super cheesy DeBeers Diamond commercial, and here I am walking into the courtyard of the blogosphere and proclaiming on the top of my lungs, "I LOVE THIS WOMAN."

Now I think it's time you tell your blog dawgs about that plaid wall you created. It's amazing!
