And, sadly, that is all the pictures I have of Mom as a bride - I will have to share more later. The day before we left, I was packing up and told Lily to go check on Bella who had just woken up in her crib. Through the monitor I heard, "I got her!" When I went into the nursery, this is what I found.
Our trip to Wichita was not great, and our trip back home to the Rock was even worse. Sparing the gory details, I'll just say that we had to pull over a lot to discipline Lily and Bella got her second tooth. However, our time in Wichita was fantastic, and the girls were so sweet during all the events, which is what counts in the end. There was a mani/pedi (for the record, the Shellack manicure is the best I have ever had. check it out.) right when we arrived in town and lots of reading and love for the girlies.
Thursday held a rehearsal, where we practiced with the girls riding in the wagon down the aisle, along with the rest of the wedding.
We had the rehearsal lunch, and by the time we got home, Bella was down for the count - sweet baby. I am continually amazed with how she wins the hearts of those around her and so thankful for the blessing we can be through her preciousness.
Thursday night we had a girls night at a hotel, which provided a great time of relaxation and togetherness.
On Friday, more relatives arrived into town. Lily enjoyed serving "coffee" to her great Aunt Allene.
That night, Mom and Wes hosted a dinner at Wes's home (which is now Mom's house) for all family and out of town guests. It was so fun to see people and enjoy time together as a family.
Lily played the piano with "Papa" and his daughter, Katie, and Mom loved getting to see her dear friend, Donna.
Lily enjoyed seeing the rabbits on the golf course, and Bella enjoyed the grass.
We had all the McCulley siblings and spouses (1 soon to be spouse) together, which is always a ton of fun. The second picture is supposed to be height order, but the ground was slopey, so it just looks like we are kind of weird and solemn. I like it.
Then, Saturday morning, bright and early, brought wedding fun. By the time I took any pictures, Lily had dismantled the fresh flowers that had been in her hair. But, as John pointed out, she did it quietly during the ceremony, so no harm done. I can't say enough how grateful I was for how well the girls did. They rode down the aisle perfectly, and then Bella fell asleep while Lily rearranged pew Bibles during the ceremony silently. Amazing.
While I will always miss my dad, (which you can read about in this post) I am so thankful that the Lord has provided for my mom in this way. Companionship is priceless, and I found myself overwhelmed with joy and gratefulness as she walked down the aisle. I am so excited to see what the Lord does in and through them in their marriage. Here are a few pictures at the reception - like I said, I didn't get many and will have to share a few more when I get my hands on them.
To round out the weekend, we went out for dinner and had a game night at the McCulley house. Table for 15 anyone?
