Berry Fun

This morning, we headed on down to Bo Brooks Farm to pick our own blueberries, and this year, we picked some blackberries as well.  We have decided to make this an annual family tradition - you can see our time in the blueberry field from last year by clicking here.  My how a year changes things - Bella can walk and pick her own berries.  Lily knows to only pick the ones that are dark blue or black.  They both have considerably more hair.  This year was much less hot, which made it that much more enjoyable.  It's the little things in life.

Lily took the picking very seriously and also did her best to help Bella, which was pretty ♥-melting to watch.  Bella actually really loved picking berries, though she did not distinguish between those that were ripe and those that weren't.  We paid the man extra at the end for all the wasted berries.

John was the best berry picker of our bunch.  (ha ha)  I was the best picture-taker, clearly.  I also had fun carrying my big baby girl, who is actually almost 20 months old, though we said she was 18 months old for probably about 3 months.  We hit up the blackberry field next.

John was on the hunt for "mondo" berries, as he called them.  I really like hearing Lily say, "mondo."  Once again, Bella loved picking, but did not really care about color or how easily they could or should be pulled off.

sweet girls.  ♥

We had the farmer take our picture as we were leaving.  Lily is protesting, which sums up how she left every activity we did this week.
