YELLOW FLOWER FIELD

Early spring around here means we can head to the daffodil field at Wye Mountain.  It is actually a little later than usual (not by much), because this winter has seemed to drag on and on and on.  This is one of my favorite annual traditions, and John is such a sport to head out every year to see the daffodils with his ladies.

Here are the past couple of years.  {2012} and {2011}

Today, the weather was warming up - like it actually might start being Spring here, which is always an excellent sign.  We headed out around 5 p.m., which, thanks to Daylight Savings time, is still really light.

This year, instead of spending a lot of time trying to force the girls into pictures, I started off with one "Hugging, Smiling" picture and then let them run around and play.  We couldn't pick flowers this year, which was a bummer (they aren't quite ready yet), so the girls mostly just ran through the field.  Which they thought was awesome.

Somehow the daffodil field is magic every year.  Probably because it is only a once a year thing for us, but I really love it.  Daffodils are such friendly flowers.

One thing I love in particular is that I usually get sweet pictures of John playing with the girls.  I know that someday they will cherish these, like I cherish them now.

(Bella is telling John to "Go To Sweep!", and then he pretends to snore, and then he "wakes up" and tickles her.  It is one of her favorite games.)

As we were heading out, we let the girls pick the little tiny purple flowers.  They gave me a bouquet.

Sweet girls.  Lovely time.  Happy Spring.
