ANNUAL PUMPKIN PATCH TRIP

Today was our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  As we were driving away from our time there, it hit me that our kids probably won't all want to go to the pumpkin patch some year in the future, and I almost started crying.  It really does go so fast.  Here are the last two year's pumpkin blog posts-

2012

It has been raining this week, so we thought it might be a bit muddy and didn't know quite what to expect.  But, it was a gorgeous fall day - crisp, but not too cold, and the clouds were what I refer to as "Toy Story Wall Clouds."  Other Pixar fans out there will know what I mean.

We often make a bit of a splash whenever we arrive places, and this time was no different.

Since everyone was awake when we arrived, we tried to get some cute pics of the kiddos and succeeded!  I really do have some of the cutest kids on Earth.

This picture is classic William - quizzical look with arms spread wide.  Check out his wing span.

Violet was less than pleased to join William in this particular grouping of pumpkins.

But, she perked up a lot with the girls right next to her someplace else.

The boys.

We headed over to the farm animals, which are always a hit with the girls.

The babies were less delighted, so John walked them around.

There was also playground playing.

We rode on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch.  The babies were in their car seats on the way there, but they got to ride in our arms on the way back.  They did not feel like falling asleep with all the fall fun to be had.

Despite the mud, it was a gorgeous day to be among the pumpkins.  The girls frolicked through the field in delight.  Until Bella realized that she was getting dirty.  That promptly killed most of the fun for her as she demanded wipes to get the mud off of her leg, her shoe, her finger, etc.  Lily picked all of our family pumpkins.

John mostly hung out with the babies and talked with a man who used to do foster care.  We were so glad that the guy driving our tractor thoroughly looked like that should be his job.

The guy John was talking to graciously agreed to take our family pictures, which is an undertaking indeed.  Bella was not interested.

After an offer of candy corn, she came around a bit.

Seeing and experiencing the beauty of God's creation with the family was a blessed treat, and one that I do not take for granted.  This weekend I am hosting a pumpkin themed baby shower, so it was a great place to stock up on a few more pumpkins.
(I did not purchase all pictured.)

Until next year, peace out, Pumpkin Patch.
