TWINS' VW THEMED 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY

You all know by now that I love a good theme, and this one happened along so perfectly that it felt a match made in birthday theming heaven.  My super smart bro-in-law of Main Street Studios fame came up with this, and I had a great time executing it.  Because their names start with V and W, a little Volkswagen love was a perfect way to ring in their first birthday!  Here are the invites - I took the picture in Mexico where there were old VW Bugs everywhere.

I do honestly try to keep first birthday parties a little simpler by always having them at CFA, which means food, drinks, a playground and a cleaning staff are provided.  Our team was super gracious when I had a bunch of extra people descend upon them for breakfast this morning.  Each family got a token to give to our staff that worked as a free coupon for their whole meal.

All I brought was a bit of decoration, cakes and cookie favors.

Sweet family and friends came to celebrate and love on the twins all morning long.  We really do have the best people in our life.

It came time for singing and smash cakes.  Though it took Violet a minute to warm up to the idea, both Violet and William dug in without too much difficulty and ended up covered in frosting, which made for quite an entertaining scene.

We can never say enough how grateful we are to have Violet and William.  Happy first birthday, sweet loves.

On their way out, people grabbed logo cookies.

When we got home, I tried to get a picture of all four kiddos in their adorable shirts made by a friend - didn't she do an awesome job?!

Violet was pretty somber through most of the party, but once she got home with the balloon, she was all smiles.

And Mr. William is smiley so much of the time - sweet boy.

It was a great time celebrating our precious one year olds!  Here's to another great year - hopefully one that includes more sleep than the last one.  I'm happy to report that we are on the right track.
