The Buffalo is such a beautiful area, and with all the rain we've had, it was a wild day on the river. But, they all lived to tell the tale and finished their 21 miles in record time.

My husband has learned that pictures are one of my love languages, and he takes them even when I'm not around, because he knows I want it all documented. He waded out to take a shot and got mocked a bit for how he looked. I love that we have pictures of it all. His phone also spent a while in water in the bottom of his canoe, but it survived and is fully functional, which is pretty amazing.

When the men are away, the women and children must play! And play we did. It is all so much better when we do life together, so Friday night brought a pizza party at my house. There were several times that the volume rose to an overwhelming crescendo, but overall, the kids did great and were thrilled to play together.
Saturday night brought a really fun Girls Night Out for some of us. Having uninterrupted conversation about things that really matter in life was such a gift. Dinner brought tears, because big things are always happening, and its so nice to talk it all through with people who get it and love you. It was also really tasty and fun.
