CHRISTMAS BREAK: PRE-CHRISTMAS EDITION

Since Christmas break hit, we've stayed busy little Christmas bees.  We kicked off Monday with cookies decorating at a friend's house.  I was supposed to be instructing their homeschool group, and it turned out to be a lot of fun, maybe with less instruction than just helping along, but we all got some cookies covered in frosting and a healthy dose of sprinkles, so that's a win.

As a side note, we should all marvel at how lovely Christy's kitchen is!  😍 The kids also had a blast playing outside even though it was below freezing, and these girls were so cute in their matching coats.

The girls and I did a little shopping and hanging out, and I was regularly impressed at how well the two of them did (most of the time 😒) when we were out and about.  It was a lot of fun!

We also attended a beautiful Christmas luncheon/goodbye party for a sweet girl in my Bible study group.

On Tuesday night, we were supposed to go to Garvan Gardens to see the lights with friends, but for a host of reasons, we stayed Little Rock local and had what was likely a much more relaxing night that ended at our house with a movie for the kids and a large dessert for the adults.

The twins have had a rough time going to sleep lately (because being three is super hard), so John stayed in to help with the process and ended up falling asleep with them.  I love these three so very much.

Continuing in the vein of girl fun, we did pedis one day.  Hooray!  Also, it's sort of crazy how quickly their feet are catching up to mine which is equal parts their feet growing and my feet being weirdly small.

We met up with bunches of friends for lunch - always a good time.

The library was calling our name, and I instituted reading time for the girls this week to cut down on TV time.

Gran Gran came by and brought Christmas gifts for everyone!

A friend from school invited us over for gingerbread house decorating, and we had a wonderful time!

I also did some last-minute cookie gifts for employees from our restaurant that brought food to the Christmas party.  Cookies and chocolate and Christmas cows make a winning combo!

These two were still in school for most of the week, and while the idea of that made me sad, the reality of it was pretty nice.  It allowed me to have time with the big girls and get a LOT of stuff done, and now we are all headed to Wichita for Christmas with my family!  And they had a very festive week at school with a visit from Santa, PJ day and Christmas movies.  And cookies, which is why they were smiling in this pic.

My computer seems to have crashed 😫, so I'm blogging from John's computer on the road and counting my lucky stars that I am a psycho about uploading pictures to several places - hopefully it won't be too bad to get it restored, though it probably won't happen this week.

Looking forward to the festivities and hoping that your holiday season is helping you see more of Christ!
