We zipped up after church even though the weather looked like it might be a bit dicey. It was crowded and hotter than we would prefer (WHERE IS ACTUAL FALL?), but we all ended up having a great time.
There was the hayride, which Violet thought needed to be cleaned of all the hay.

There was picking our pumpkins in the actual patch which was dusty due to lack of rain, but everyone found a pumpkin to their liking.
There were not coordinated themed clothing, because I decided not to pick that battle. Times change. 😭🤷🏻♀️☹️ However, I must say that I am very grateful that everyone is still excited to go to the pumpkin patch - they all wholeheartedly wanted to be there, which I do not take for granted. Also, they were legitimately trying to smile for this picture but could not seem to do it at the same time. 🤣
We gathered even more pumpkins, because can you ever have to many? Actually, last year a pumpkin rotted on the back porch and then became a home for a rat that jumped out and surprised us and ran into the house whilst all children ran and screamed and so did I. So, yes, sometimes there is such a thing as too many pumpkins.

We did the cutesy little train ride around the sunflower field.

As I mentioned, this is one tradition that goes back deep - here's the walk down Pumpkin Patch Lane:
