Gulf Shores: Day Two

Day Two could be summed up by saying that we spent it at the beach, which was mostly all delightful. Lily ♥ed the beach, which was so fun to bear witness to and experience.  Bella tolerated the beach rather well - she really liked being in her kiddie pool and eating soggy Goldfish.  Yum - or yuck - depending on how you look at it.  We spent the morning at the beach, retired back at the condo for naps and then hit the beach again in the afternoon, which is why the girls are wearing two different swimsuits for the day.

Lily really loved being in the water, being in the sand, being in the sun . . . ect.  She is a beach girl.

Bella liked trying to eat the sand.  Like, stuffing her mouth completely with it.  We really had to watch for that.  Gross, but sort of funny too.

Seriously, so glad we had this tip from so many people.  Kiddie pool saved the day.

That night for dinner we went to The Hangout.  They have perfected fun, though at times it was a little stimulus overload.  Every time a horn went off, there was a giant foam pit for the kiddos.  There was fun signage everywhere, live music and games, and of course, the beach right across the street.  Every 15 minutes or so, they would play a dance song, and all the waiters would dance on the tables that weren't full.  At some point during the Cotton-Eyed Joe, Bella lost it.  Lily stared around in wide-eyed wonder most of dinner, which meant that she was very quiet.  All in all, it was a great meal experience, though I think it would be more fun with older children who could really appreciate all the bells and whistles.

(She is about to loose it while watching a guy do a line dance on a table right next to her.)

Day Two was a great reminder of why we take vacations - we get to slow down.  And with few places to be other than the beach and dinner, we really did relax - we even ended our night with Cupcake Wars.  Perfection.  One more day to post about . . .

we went to Gulf Shores just a few weeks ago and thought about going to the Hangout but werent sure what kind of place it was.

We thought about bringing a kiddie pool for our little girl but seemed to manage to the pool most of the time. We will definitely have to remember that for the next kiddo.
