STAY-CATION WITH COLLEGE BFFS

Our BFFs from college came for a visit this week, and we pretty much dropped out of our normal life and had stay-cationing fun for 3 straight days.  In so many ways, life is hard and feels like an uphill battle.  But, God has graciously gifted us with dear friends who turned into family to help cushion the blows and hold us up.  These are some of those friends, and in a year when we didn't think we could drive to Waco with all of our children (some of whom still don't travel well), they offered to drive to us for the second year in a row.  We'll come to y'all next year, Clauses! ❤️ Thanks for making it happen!

Also - three cheers for fall color! 🎉🍂🍁 Arkansas is so gorgeous this time of year.

Here's a quick run-down of our fun, mostly in pics.  We really moved slowly most mornings with our combined 8 children and would get moving around lunch most days.  On Thursday, we played at Pinnacle park and scenic overlook and walked the Kingfisher Trail.

On Friday, we lunched at Three Fold Noodle and Dumpling, which Violet thoroughly enjoyed, before heading to the Museum of Discovery.

Friday night, we got a (super brave) sitter and did a delightful double date night "regressive" dinner, where we started with a chocolate tasting at Izard, before moving on to appetizers at Lost Forty and dinner at Petit and Keet.  It was all so yum.

And Saturday took us to Two Rivers Park for canoeing and biking before rounding out our evening at Loblolly.  We had a very snakey 🐍 day at Two Rivers (saw a dead one, Bella ran over a live one with her bike who did not take kindly to that, and the guys saw one in the water 😳😱), and I was not sad to leave the snakes behind, though the colors were quite stunning.

Time with friends is a gift to our souls, and we are so grateful.  Our children are forming another generation of friendship and play so well together, and we could have just all kept talking for days.  Can't believe the fun is over and can't wait to do it again!  Love y'all, Clauses!
