- Friday night: We tried the new Mellow Mushroom in town. New restaurants in Little Rock usually have long lines, so we got there early and had no wait and delicious pizza. Yum!

- Saturday morning: Pool time. The weather all weekend was unseasonably cool - like in the 80s. Absolutely amazing to spend time outside.

- Saturday afternoon: Monsters University in the theater. So cute. So nice to have Rachel to help with a fussy Violet. The girls loved it and the popcorn. So much popcorn.

- Saturday evening: Gran Gran brought us dinner out of the kindness of her heart - thanks so much! It was great.

- Sunday morning: I woke up at 7:45. John had already gone on a 5.5 mile run, fed the babies, gotten dressed for church and taken the girls for donuts. It was very surreal and wonderful - though it is not what he had planned. The girls were up when he got back from his run, and he knew that we would not all be able to sleep through them, so he took the hit. Thanks, sweetheart! And, the girls had a great time on the donut run.

- Sunday evening: We went for a picnic at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. It is amazing how much more enjoyable the world is in July when the weather is like this. Thank you, Lord. Violet got sweet kisses from Bella - I am still regularly amazed at how sweet both girls are to the babies.

- Sunday later evening: Because Rachel so kindly offered to stay with our kids, we got to go on a fun dessert double date with friends! I will never turn down laughter and friends paired with the Chocolate Sack from SO. Thanks, Heads!

- Monday morning: Since Rachel so kindly stayed through this morning, we went on a lovely walk with the gorgeous weather and two double strollers. Then, we did grocery shopping. I am pleased to say that I made it to Kroger with my wallet, which was a definite thrill after not having it the last two weeks.

To be honest - the last week brought a lot of hard news for friends of mine, and those things weigh heavy on my heart. I am left thankful and amazed for the goodness of the Lord to all of us and for the ways that he works in our lives, even in and through hard things. I am also left longing for heaven and for a time when there will be no more tears and heartache.
This weekend was a sweet reminder of the fact that all good things are from the Lord. Thanks, Rachel, for coming and sharing your life with us as well as your extra set of hands. It was great!
