We had a great trip down with a smiley William. He got the MVP yesterday for being a great baby. Except when we were in the Taco Bell drive-thru, but I think he was trying to warn us, and we should have listened.

Everyone was excited to get out of the car and into the hotel.

We headed to the Arch. We made the tactical error of not getting dinner ahead of time, and we managed to hit several lines at just the wrong time which made everything take much longer. BUT- it was fun, and we were glad to ride up to the top in a tiny pod that I called elevator so that Lily wouldn't be scared of it. Bella was not in the mood for pictures, and Violet was really quite cranky - that's how it goes with four kiddos.

When planning this trip, we knew that it would be no fun to all stay in one hotel room together, so we got a suite type hotel room that has a kitchen and two bedrooms. Best decision ever. Despite the greatness of our accommodations, Bella was still upset, until we let her put on her sunglasses. Then she was able to brush her teeth in peace.
This morning we hit the St. Louis Zoo. In short, it is awesome with beautiful landscaping, great exhibits and tons of fun animals. As an added birthday bonus that must be meant for John, the weather was delightfully cool for August 5th. Amazing. We had a great time.

(Can you say Bellapotomus?!)

(I heart baby elephants)
Here's the family picture we took at the zoo. It pretty much sums things up.

Looking forward to the rest of our trip! Happy birthday, John!

I live in St Louis! It'd be great to see your adorable family, even for a brief moment if you'll be around for another day or two!
