4TH OF JULY FUN

After our whirlwind trip to Dallas, we were looking forward to spending the holiday with our children.  Upon our arrival in Little Rock, we hopped back into the car to go fireworks shopping, and we found an indoor, air-conditioned place, so πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ.  Also, because we all dressed so patriotically, they gave us $15 worth of free fireworks - double bonus!

John worked some of the 4th, but we also snuck in a family donut date in the middle of the morning.

We had some friends over, and I had fun making lots of patriotic food with a little help from my little friends.

I also served yummy Aloha Sliders and hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls for the kids.  After dinner, we did a few fireworks at our house before heading to the big show.

We helped our friends ring in their 13th anniversary!

We have never done a big fireworks show with our children, but this year, we decided to brave it.  Our friends graciously invited us to the country club, so it was a smaller crowd, and that definitely suited us.

It was a beautiful display, and 3 out of 4 children really enjoyed it.  Bella got nervous, so John took her back a ways to calm her down.  There are always highs and lows at this stage.  But, mostly, it was a win!  Plus, we had extra laps for our littles - thanks, Henrys/Wingfields!

All in all, it was a great holiday with friends and family and food and fun and gratefulness that we live in a country that values these things! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
