CFA is really the best company to work with. There are plenty of hard things about John's job (in fact, that list is incredibly long and seems to be growing at this exact moment), but we never question being partnered with CFA. Every year, they celebrate special store sales milestones in some way. Usually it's at our annual seminar in February, but this year, they treated us to a quick trip to Austin for a celebration dinner.
And though it was just a little over 24 hours for me, it was a great little getaway with my hubby and some of my favorite CFA peeps. I'll take it.
Our first flight was delayed out of Little Rock, and we were cutting it extremely close to make our connection.
We literally ran through DFW with our party of nine which was certainly a comical sight. We made it - thankfully. Once in Austin, lunch was our first order of business. We headed to the Hula Hut on recommendation, and it was a delightful stop! The Pipeline Shrimp Enchilada was delicious, and dining on the lake will always be up my alley.
We checked into our hotel and got ready for the main event - our Milestone dinner. It is so easy to glance over big accomplishments, and this dinner brought a nice pause to be grateful for all that the last year brought. We are thankful to the Lord for his good work in and through our business and the way he has richly blessed it. We are humbled and glad.
I'm so very proud of John and the way the he works so hard and cares so deeply. Doing life with him is one of the greatest blessings of my whole life, and it was a joy to be by his side on this evening! C
Since our time in Austin was so very short, I wanted to hit up one more fun place. We ended up going out for donuts as big as our face after our fancy dinner and massive late lunch. That did not stop me from eating a fair bit of my Funky Monkey donut and portions of everyone else's donuts as well. I am not a donut discriminator.
The guys ended up staying an extra night and going on a benchmarking trip, so we ladies winged our way back to Little Rock in time to get our kids from school the next day.
Peace out, Austin - can't wait to come back and just keep eating.
