While we may be an unlikely pairing, we are all amazingly compatible and have a great time together. Having them visit our family and see our world was such a wonderful treat! We went to Pinnacle, which we were planning on climbing. However, Violet screamed so much when fastened into the baby backpack that we gave up and decided to walk the Kingfisher Trail. We were almost deterred in this endeavor as well when we ran across a little Cottonmouth snake on the trail who did want to show us his fangs.
After our short walk, we let the kiddos loose on the playground which was a hit for everyone.

We got a sitter and went to a new restaurant in town - The Heights Taco and Tamale Company, which was delicious!

Friday night we did dinner with the whole family, which is always an adventurous affair.

(Can you say knives?!?)
They brought sparklers for the kiddos and took us for a ride in their awesome RV Van around the neighborhood. Her name is Sparkles, so it was a sparkly evening all the way around. Just how I like them.

All in all, we had a magical time together, and it was fun to see that our vacation friendship was able to transition to real life! Can't wait to visit Oakland!
