Today our darling Bellapotomus turned five years old. I could wax on and on about how fast these past five years have gone and how much we love her, because both of those ring 100% true. Or I could tell you each of her many quirks that make her unique. Ultimately, I want to remember how much her generous side has developed in the past year. She's smart as a whip, and she loves big. We treasure her sweet (and sassy) self in our family.
Her party is not until next weekend, so we celebrated today with a trip to the AR State Fair. We haven't been since 2011 (pics here!), and it was a hit all the way around. We actually really did have fun, and it feels like we might be getting to the point where some things will be fun with our family. It's like we can see the light at the end of the dark tunnel of crazy family outings, and it was really encouraging.
The petting zoo was a delight, as expected.
(Violet wants to kiss all the things.)
It's just fun to see all the rides and action and people.
(both twins wanted to be held at different points, but they were so stinking sweet about it.)
We hit up our perennial favorite - the bunny barn. After hanging out with some bunny people for a while, they offered us a free rabbit. We politely, but firmly, declined.
Since it was Bella's birthday, we did do some gaming, which we usually avoid at parks, because we need more stuffed animals like holes in the head.
We hit up a few rides, and though I really wanted to do the ferris wheel, Lily declined, so we stuck to things closer to the ground.
We rounded out the night with fair food for dinner. Win, win, win.
Happy Birthday, Bella! We love you so much and are so thankful we get the opportunity to be your parents! XOXO
